Super Bulldogs B.A.R.K.
B = Best Behavior
A - Achieve Academics
R - Be Responsible
K = Always use Kindness
Our school is again using the Bulldogs B.A.R.K. behavior plan.
This approach focuses on school-wide behavior, responsibility,
respect, and safety. These school-wide expectations were
established for your child’s safety and to provide a
comfortable learning environment for all children.
I feel that it is important for my students to have ownership in the
classroom. Therefore, the students will assist me in developing a
"working agreement" for our classroom. These expectations will
correspond with the school-wide B.A.R.K. Expectations.
My belief in classroom discipline involves students taking responsibility
for their actions and choices. This year students will move their numbered
carto different color zones based on their behavior. At the beginning
of every day, all students begin in the Green Zone. Where they end
up at the end of the day will be their responsibility. The color
that your child ends the day on will be recorded in his/her agenda at the
end of the day before we go home.
Green = Excellent Behavior
Yellow = Opportunity to Correct Behavior/Warning
Red = Disruptive Behavior resulting in a Behavior Referral/Loss of Privileges/Call
Home (this will depend on severity of behavior/action)
I am also a firm believer in rewarding individuals and groups of students for
excellent behavior and work. If students do not change colors more than twice
in month, they will be eligible to win a chance to have lunch with the teacher.
At the end of each month, I will draw 5 names to see who the lucky winners will
be. The students who win that month will bring in their own lunch and we'll
eat together in our room.
I believe that a well-established discipline and reward system creates a positive
learning environment for all children. If you have any questions or concerns
about my discipline policy, please feel free to contact me at any time. Thank
you for your support!
